Shanty Town

BAND 1; We could go and write a big paragraph trying to describe Shanty Town and what we are about. But when you get down to the nitty gritty of things Shanty Town are just four lads from Salford having a laugh doing what we enjoy doing! Which is playing our own music live and giving the audience a good night. If you like what we do, then nice one come with us, get on it and let the good times roll. The Hotknives

Ska legends The Hotknives were originally formed in 1982 in England by a group of friends interested in ska, dub, reggae and Northern Soul. They recorded two live albums, "Live at the boatman" and "Live and Skanking" before recording their first studio album, "The Way Things Are" in 1989. Having reached the top of the 3rd Wave ska scene and been banned from Radio in the UK, the band decided to call it a day in 1993.

Members

The Members were a UK punk rock band who scored a couple of sizeable hits in 1979. Fronted by the bizarrely named Nicky Tesco, they had a track; 'Fear On The Streets' featured on the 1977 Beggars Banquet LP 'Streets'. They subsequently signed with Virgin and acheived a number 12 placing on the UK singles chart with the classic 'Sound Of The Suburbs.'
Follow-up single 'Offshore Banking Business' peaked at number 31, while accompanying album 'At The Chelsea Nightclub' reached number 45.

Jodavino

JODAVINO were formed in June 2005 by brother and sister duo Joe and Aoibheann Carey. Having collaborated on many different musical projects in the past, the pair realised that their futures lay in combining vocal and songwriting talents. The two joined forces with Joe Philpott of Rubyhorse fame in late summer of 2005 and recruited Humphrey Murphy on bass and Trevor Kiely on drums to complete the lineup.

Neville Staple

Neville Staple was a composer and a singer for The Specials, and was one of the founding members of the Fun Boy Three. He has worked with such legends as Elvis Costello (The Specials 1979 - Chrysalis Records), David Byrne (Fun Boy 3 Waiting 1983 - Chrysalis Records), and Ali Campbell (Today's Specials 1996 - Kuff Records/Virgin), to name only a few. The Dualers

The Dualers are street performing brothers Si and Tyber. The Dualers perform a unique blend of ska, soul and reggae that appeals to all ages with members of their database ranging from 1 to 91. They have a fan base of approaching 10,000 members but have probably been seen by in excess of 4 million whilst busking around the south east and performing at private functions, for the last 8 years. They have sold over 35,000 copies of their first two cd's on the streets alone.
