Blacktop was the first post-Gories project for Mick Collins. While similar to the legendary garage punk three-piece, Blacktop is a clear progression, in terms of musicianship and songwriting skill, for Collins and is also the beginning of his movement towards noisier material. The band's sound was fuller and more sophisticated, due in no small part to the addition of a bass line and the songwriting input of Darin Lin Wood ( Black Snakes with Richard Kern, Fireworks and '68 Comeback) and Alex Cuervo.

The Deviants

The Deviants (formerly the Social Deviants) were a musical group in the United Kingdom. Out of the Ladbroke Grove UK Underground Community, a number of bands would emerge. Perhaps the most anarchistic band of the Underground was the Deviants founded and fronted by singer/writer Mick Farren, the Social Deviants, later just the Deviants, made three bizarre albums in two years. Mick Farren states that The Deviants were a community band which "did things every now and then - it was a total assault thing with a great deal of inter-relation and interdependence".

The Triumphs

The Triumphs, an instrumental precursor group to Booker T & The MGswere assembled in 1961 by producer/songwriter Chips Moman in Memphis TN. He recorded recorded them at Stax headquarters in the old Capitol Theater on McLemore Avenue. They were the first release for the Volt label. and they were also apparently the first inter-racial group in the then segregated city. Joining Moman on guitar duties was Booker T Jones on Hammond organ, Lewie Steinberg on bass and drummer Howard 'Bulldog' Grimes, who later would go on to anchor Hi-Records rhythm section.

The Atlantics

There are several bands that go by the name of The Atlantics. 1. The Atlantics were an Australian surf rock band in the early 1960s and arguably Australia's most successful of the genre. Most well-known for their classic hit, "Bombora", their later recordings such as "Come On" are examples of 1960s garage rock. They were the first Australian rock band to write their own hits. In 2000 the group reformed with three of the original members, and they are still actively releasing new material and performing live.

TJR

TJR can refer to three artists (please note the free downloads on this page refer to the 3rd artist): 1. An alias of famed uk garage pioneers Matt "Jam" Lamont and Karl "Tuff Enuff" Brown, more popularly recognised as Tuff Jam. This project is probably best known for the seminal track Just Gets Better, which featured and brought to fame vocalist Xavier. 2. A New York based DJ who has gained some recognition in dance music circles for his fidget house releases including "Atomic" and "Good Evening Chicago", on Wearhouse Music and Potty Mouth Music respectively.
