Abram Wilson

Born in Fort Smith, Arkansas in 1975, Abram Wilson grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana where he attended the New Orleans Center For Creative Arts (NOCCA), a school specialising in jazz and classical music. After graduating from NOCCA and high-school, he studied classical trumpet with Larry Griffin at Ohio Wesleyan University. Matthew Halsall

24 year old jazz trumpeter, composer, arranger, DJ and producer. Halsall picked up the trumpet at just 6 years old after being taken to a jazz gig by his parents. From the age of 13 Matt has toured the world playing in France, Italy, Spain, Russia, Holland, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Australia and America as well as doing extensive UK tours. He currently holds residencies at Matt & Phreds Jazz Club in Manchester, Djangos Riff in Liverpool and The Hifi Club in Leeds.

Lee Morgan

Lee Morgan (10 July 1938 - 19 February 1972) was an American hard-bop jazz trumpeter. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Morgan was a jazz prodigy, joining the Dizzy Gillespie big band at 18, remaining a member for two years. In 1956 he began recording as a leader, mainly for the Blue Note label; eventually he recorded twenty-five albums for the company. Morgan's principal influence as a player was Clifford Brown, having had direct contact with him before Brown's premature death.

Roy Hargrove

Roy A. Hargrove (born October 16, 1969) is an American jazz trumpeter. Hargrove was born in Dallas, Texas, and was discovered as a potential jazz talent when Wynton Marsalis visited his high school. One of his biggest influences was saxophone player David “Fathead” Newman, who played with the Ray Charles Band at Hargrove’s junior high school. Hargrove spent one year (1988–1989) studying at Boston’s Berklee School of Music, but could more often be found in New York City jam sessions, and finally transferred to New York’s New School.
