Richard Goode

Richard Goode (born June 1, 1943) is an American classical pianist, known especially for his interpretations of Ludwig van Beethoven and chamber music. Goode was born in East Bronx, New York. He studied piano with Elvira Szigeti, Claude Frank, Nadia Reisenberg, Rudolf Serkin and Mieczyslaw Horszowski (the latter two at the Curtis Institute). He won numerous prizes, including First Prize in the Clara Haskil Competition and the Avery Fisher Prize.

Ahmad Jamal

Celebrated pianist-composer Ahmad Jamal continues his performance schedule around the world, as he has for well over the last four decades. Noted for his outstanding technical command and identifiable sound as a piano stylist, Mr. Jamal was born on July 2, 1930, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A child prodigy who began to play the piano at the age of three, he began formal studies at age seven. While in high school, he completed the equivalent of college master classes under the noted African-American concert singer and teacher Mary Cardwell Dawson and pianist James Miller.

It all began as a playful side project. Leilani Hermiasih was just a little bored with her daily life. Her background in classical piano (which she had learned in some lessons with a superbly nice and patient old lady since she was about 7) gave her a little idea in what kind of game she wanted to play. She wanted to play the game of fun music. It was never that hard. All of the melodies would come out of outer space, and magically place themselves into her fingers as she then tried to put them all together into a proper song. Lyrics were added, and voila! It was done. Ding!

Valentina Lisitsa

Valentina Lisitsa is a Ukrainian-born classical pianist. Born into a family of non-musicians in Kiev, Ukraine, she started playing piano at the age of three, performing her first solo recital only a year later. Despite her early disposition to music, her dream at that point was to become a professional chess player. She attended the Lysenko music school for Gifted Children and, later, Kiev Conservatory.
