Grand Salvo

Grand Salvo is Paddy Mann - a musician from Melbourne who has been performing and recording albums for around a decade. He has produced five albums which have received critical acclaim, his most recent is titled "Soil Creatures". "Death", released March 15, 2008, through Spunk Records, in association with Preservation, is an 'animal' concept album that focuses on a "bird, a rabbit, a rat, a bear and a man all telling their own tale, coming together to weave a fairytale," and features vocalist Zoe Randell.

Flamingods

Flamingods is a four piece multi-instrumental experimental band founded by Kamal Rasool in late 2009 as a bedroom project. Their sound has been described as ethnic pop, with elements of noise, tribal and freak folk. They use a vast array of percussion instruments and loop pedals, often in unorthodox ways. They are based in London, UK. Flamingods have released one self-recorded album entitled 'Waves Waves Waves Waves Waves' and a joint summer EP with Cabaret Scene. Rasool is currently writing and finalizing material for the next Flamingods album entitled 'Sun'.

Hem

There are at least two bands by this name. 1. A Brooklyn, New York-based band who fuse together a mix of traditional American music with contemporary styles. The group draw influences from a variety of musical genres, particularly folk, country, alt-country, americana and rock. Hem are sometimes described as 'chamber-folk', due to their combination of orchestral and folk instrumentation; some critics have also tagged them as 'countrypolitan'.

The Woe Betides

Once there were two lost souls, Grundy le Zimbra and The Late Simon Mastrantone. They both loved to play music yet they could never find the right slipper to fit. The boredom was killing them. Not ones to bury their heads in the sand, they turned instead to showcasing others’ talent and together with their friend Jeremy Warmsley they created a night called Songs in the Dark. Here they laid on a feast of modern cabaret, a celebration of all that was good in music, poetry, comedy and art. One such Dark night, Grundy and The Late.

Nuala Kennedy

Nuala Kennedy grew up in Dundalk, Ireland where she was a member of the ceilidh band Ceoltoiri Oga Oghrialla. In 1995 she moved to Scotland and she now lives near Kincraig in the Highlands. She is best known for her work with trio Fine Friday, with whom she has toured extensively and recorded two critically acclaimed CDs, "Gone Dancing" (2002) and "Mowing the Machair" (2004). The Dodge Brothers

The Dodge Brothers are a British skiffle band from Southampton playing Americana, rockabilly, bluegrass, folk, country and blues music. The band includes film critic and BBC television presenter Mark Kermode, along with Mike Hammond and Aly Hirji. The band played on the BBC Two programme The Culture Show, which is co-presented by Kermode, on 19 May 2007. Kermode has described the band as "guitars, banjo, slap bass, harmonica - and no drums, which is essentially a hillbilly/skiffle set-up.

Mark Eitzel

Mark Eitzel (born January 30, 1959) is best known as lead singer of the San Francisco band American Music Club. He was voted Rolling Stone's Songwriter of the Year in 1991. Eitzel's first solo album was the (now elusive) cassette-only 'Mean Mark Eitzel Gets Fat' (1982), which pre-dates his AMC work. He released a solo live album, Songs Of Love Live in 1991, featuring raw and emotional acoustic versions of his best AMC songs. His first solo album proper was 1996's 60 Watt Silver Lining, a highly personal, jazz-inflected work which many consider his best outing.
