Hamlet is a alternative metal band from Madrid, Spain. Active since 1987, they are considered one of the biggest bands of nu metal in Spanish. Their sound is characterised by strong riffs layered with melody, coupled with a very melodic voice that is sometimes raw. The English text is a direct internet translation, so it might not read too well. The original spanish text is at the bottom:
The beginning of Hamlet as group goes back to distant the 1987...
Early years: Yang began playing the guitar at the age of seven, and began formal tuition when she was ten, studying under the famous guitarist Chen Zhi, later Chairman of the China Classical Guitar Society. Her public debut was at the First China International Guitar Festival where she met immediate acclaim. At the same time, she was presented with her first foreign guitar (a "Pepe" children's guitar from Aria), by the celebrated Japanese guitar maker Masaru Kohno. She went on to win second prize at the Beijing Senior Guitar competition being the only child competitor, aged eleven.
Ruth was born in the South East of Spain and when she screamed loudly during the birth, the doctors said she would be a singer. At the age of one, Ruth loved the film Annie and would sing along in English, even though she had no idea what the words meant. Her mother nurtured Ruth's love of music by playing music and dancing with her. Ruth was six when she first heard Monserat Caballet, an opera singer in Spain and she started to sing opera when her mother bought her Monserat's album. Ruth imitated her vocals until she was pitch perfect to the iconic Spanish opera singer.
Rosendo is one of the most important artists in Spanish rock.
After playing with some bands, he founded Ñu with Carlos Molina, but some disagreements between them made him leave the band and join Leño in 1978, who achieved success and created the called "Rock urbano" (Urban rock).
In the top of their career, they decide to dissolve because of the bad relationship of the components.
In 1985 Loco Por Incordiar is released, his first album as Rosendo, with a more classical rock sound.
