Fernhill

The meeting of Ceri Rhys Matthews and Julie Murphy at Art College in Maidstone was the starting point for Fernhill. Julie went back to Wales with Ceri, and started performing Welsh songs with Ceri's mandolin to accompany Julie's vocals. Later they combined with piper Jonathan Shorland, and, later still in '96, they were joined by squeezebox wizard Andy Cutting to become Fernhill proper. The band have already produced two terrific albums, 'Ca' Nos' and 'Llatai', which demonstrated and developed links between the songs and tunes of the Welsh tradition (much of which survives)...

Micrographia

Formed in 2003 in Bangor, Wales UK by Ben Powell, Andy Jones and David McCann. Although the band hasn't got very far with its music, only being able to play a scattering of live shows in the grottier buildings of North Wales - they have realeased two E.Ps on member Ben Powell's (Mank) independent label "Mankymusic". "Micrographia" was released in 2004, and recieved some modest radio airtime, as well as securing an equally modest number of fans. The second (and so far last) "Everything will turn to Heat" Received more airtime on BBC Radio Wales and Rob da Bank's Radio 1 show.

Steve’s dreams were realised in April 2007 when he met Woody Allen in the Carlyle, New York. Since then he has been busy making his album with drummer Gareth Dylan Smith and lots of other brilliant musicians. Snow Angels, completed in 2009, is out now. Halflight

There have been two bands with this name. Halflight 2010-ongoing Halflight are Chris Cookson and Joe Rickerby. Halflight began after Chris and Joe met at a house party in London in October 2010, and within a month their first EP 'Shine On' was written and recorded. The EP was released in January 2011, and has been well received by bloggers and radio, including airplay on BBC Introducing, which has led the band being invited to do a live session for the BBC in February 2011.

Aar Maanta

Aar Maanta moved from his native Somalia to the UK in the late 1980's due to the civil war. As a lone child in a new country he turned to music for comfort absorbing many genres including pop, rock, hip hop, RnB and house. He now produces an eclectic mix of styles blended with traditional Somali music. Aar Maanta's first notable performance was in July 2006 at Rise: London United the UK's largest multi-cultural festival.
