A child prodigy, Erich Wolfgang Korngold (1897-1957) was a composer of operas, songs, and orchestral works - though most notably, his swashbuckling leitmotivic film scores. His bold orchestral textures and trademark "Golden Age" sound inspired, and will continue to inspire, generations of Hollywood composers and filmmakers.
