Lettuce

(...)It was 1992 at the Berklee School of Music, and a few high school summer session kids exploded onto the Boston jazz scene with killer chops and bottomless energy. Drawn together at the altar of funky soul, Eric Krasno, Sam Kininger, Adam Deitch, Erick Coomes, Jeff Bhasker, and Ryan Zoidis began taking over local clubs and jam nights on borrowed sound equipment. Brash and precocious, the guys always got what they needed: "Let us borrow your gear." "Let us play one more tune." "Let us crash on your couch." Thus Lettuce ("Let us...") was born, and the funky gospel found another apostle.

Identity

1. Sweden's IDENTITY existed during that perceived hardcore void from late '80s to early '90s, a time that the closed minded claim produced no bands worth listening to. The closed minded are wrong, and IDENTITY is a prime example - this is the standard to which modern "melodic hardcore" should be held. Brilliant tuneful guitar leads throughout and hooks that border on melancholy, while the music blasts onward with few breaks in tempo ("Can I Really Trust Your Words?" is about as mid tempo as they get, and the kids could still pit to that one pretty easily).

NeonLight

NEONLIGHT fusions two upcoming German drum and bass producers: Tobias Jakubczyk and Jakob Thomser notoriously known as NIZE5IVE & PITCH ’n’ SULPHUR. The two boys imbibed music with their mother’s milk let alone their fathers who already played together in a band. The love for Drum&Bass has welded them together since the end of the 90s. Sequencers and DnB-producing lead to their first audible successes and were already tested in DJ-sets. Very good feedback has motivated NIZE5IVE & PITCH ‘n’ SULPHUR to get their music going.
