Peter Hunnigale

Born in South London 12th December 1960 Peter Hunnigale was to develop into one of Britain's most formidable Reggae artist of our time.
It was clear at a tender age Peter's main interest was in music and being born of Jamaican parentage he was exposed and influenced by music of West Indian culture.
Growing up in Britain meant that Peter was also opened to other genre's in music and with seeing the popular acts of the day performing on Television and hearing the songs on Radio, Peter knew what he wanted to be.

Big Youth

Manley Augustus Buchanan (born April 19, 1949, Trenchtown, Kingston, Jamaica), better known as Big Youth (sometimes called Jah Youth), is a Jamaican DJ, mostly known for his work during the 1970s. Influenced by U-Roy, he started singing with Lord Tippertone's sound system in 1970. His first LP Chi Chi Run was produced by Prince Buster in 1971. The name of the band Sonic Youth is in part a tribute to Big Youth.

David Nesta "Ziggy" Marley (born October 17, 1968, Trenchtown) is a Grammy-winning jamaican musician. He is the oldest son of Rita and Bob Marley, the legendary roots reggae singer. His mother Rita called and baptised him David, but his father Bob nicknamed him "Ziggy" in reference to his childhood nickname. Born in Saint Ann Parish, Jamaica, Marley learned how to play guitar and drums from his father.

Aba used to deejay Jah Tubby's sound system and at that time he was known as Jasmine Joe. Those of you that were around the sound system scene in the eighties will remember the slightly-extrovert mic man that Jah Tubby's had; that was Aba. When Joe embraced the Rastafarian faith he adopted a new and more positive attitude and with his rediscovered faith a new name. That name was and is Aba Shanti-I, pronounced ABA SHANTI-EYE not ONE. So you see, the name Aba Shanti-I is not just the name of the sound system, it is the name of the person that is playing the sound.
