There are at least four known artists with the name Atmosphere. 1) Atmosphere, a Minnesota alternative rap group, formed around 1994. At its creation, the group was called "Urban Atmosphere". Unlike many hip hop groups, Atmosphere provide their own live instrumentation, usually consisting of bass guitar and drums. Atmosphere originally consisted of Spawn (MC), ANT (producer) and Slug (DJ at the time).
Busdriver, whose birth name is Regan Farquhar, is an underground MC hailing from Los Angeles. He is known for his rapid-fire, jazzy, free-association style of hip-hop. Some listeners consider Busdriver to be an abstract rapper. His rhymes sometimes border on dadaist and even pure nonsense, but there is almost always a concrete message amongst his fast-paced, seemingly stream of conciousness rhymes. An interesting thing that sets Busdriver somewhat apart from other rappers is how he raps to the melody in addition to the beat on some songs.

The Canadian post-rock band is a collective of up to sixteen musicians built around songwriter Scott Chernoff. Members are involved with other ventures such as Fly Pan Am, the Boxhead Ensemble, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, the Shalabi Effect, and Codeine. They play folk-actuelle, a genre fusing traditional North American folk aesthetics with the free ethos of musique actuelle.
Eric Church is a country music singer and songwriter who released his third studio album, Chief on July 26, 2011, debuting at #1 on both Top Country Albums and the Billboard 200. The Homeboy Songfacts explains that the album's title refers to a nickname of not only the singer's grandfather, but also Church's own pet name among friends and family. Eric grew up in Granite Falls, N.C., in an area known as one of the world's furniture capitals.

There are at least two bands called Mongrel: a hip-hop/indie rock band from the UK and a punk band from the U.S. Mongrel from the UK formed in 2008, consisting of Jon McClure (Reverend and The Makers), Low-key (Poisonous Poets), Andy Nicholson (Arctic Monkeys), Matt Helders (Arctic Monkeys), Drew McConnell (Babyshambles), Joe Moskow (Reverend and The Makers), and Jagz Kooner. They released the album Better Than Heavy in 2009.

Valrog is a Scottish black metal band started in 2007 by Destroyer (guitar) followed by Bludgeoned (drums). Formed to promote Black Metal in Scotland and its theologies. Scepter(bass) and GUUL (vocals) (also of solo project Guul) complete the line-up. A six-track, self-titled album was released on September 15th 2009.
Edan (born Edan Portnoy) is an independent emcee, DJ and producer based in Boston, USA. He is a former member of the band Fiber 2001 and is known for his eclectic mix of classic mid-80s till early 90s hip-hop with 60s rock, funk and other styles. His mix-tape "Sound of the Funky Drummer" collects hip hop tracks sampling James Brown's "Funky Drummer", which has been called the most-sampled record of all time.
