Griswalds

KINGS OF LONDON POP PUNK the GRISWALDS are one of the few surviving mid 90’s UK pop punk bands . Three Ramones worshipping teenage losers, Ben Nuthink (vocals, bass), Steve Legend (vocals, guitar) and Paul Spazm (vocals, drums) got together in the summer of 1995. We each bought our first instruments the Christmas before and began writing songs about horror and sci-fi movies, drinking and our extensive bad luck and limited good luck with girls.

Artist Type:

The Sabrejets

The Sabrejets roots can be traced to the mid-to-late 80's where vocalist, guitarist & frontman Brian Young could be found with a band that he had formed THE TIGERSHARKS. With his influences including T-REX, The Cramps, Panther Burns and Johnny Thunders, Brian had decided to form the band after having a couple of years rest from the music business. He had previously been in RUDI - Belfast's first ever punk band who had enjoyed some fairly successful releases and supoorted The Jam on a UK tour.

Artist Type:

Guana Batz

The Guana Batz were formed in 1983 in Feltham, Middlesex. The groups initial line up consisted of Pip Hancox (vocals), Stuart Osbourne (guitar), Dave 'Diddle' Turner (drums) Mick Wigfall (Double Bass). This line up didn't relase any material and so Stuart told Mick he favoured an electric bass at that time and that's how Mick White replaced him. Then in 1984, the Guana Batz opted for a double bass player again, which was Sam Sardi.

Thee Waltons

"Hide away yer daughters, stow away yer beer
Lock up yer livestock Thee Walton boys are here!!" Thee Waltons created havoc from 1986 to 1996 with their unique blend of twisted hillbilly rock 'n' roll. They toured the country playing with the likes of Screaming Lord Sutch (R.I.P), The Damned, King Kurt, The Meteors, The Highliners, Slade and even Showaddywaddy !! They released three albums, a single and two live videos as well as appearing on several compilations under record deals with Raucous Records and Cherry Red Records.

Artist Type:

Wigsville Spliffs

The Wigsville Spliffs played authentic 50's Rockabilly back in the early 1980's.
Formed by 3 friends from sleepy Suffolk, England.
Ian Aitken (Vocals/Guitar)
Mike Lister (Slap Bass)
Danny Mowl (Drums)
Initially the boys set out to tear up the local rockin scene.
They became more well known when they started to appear regularly on the bill at the world famous Klub Foot in Londons Hammersmith. Regularly providing the support for other bands such as Restless, The Guanabatz and Frenzy.
A change of style to a more Neo-Rockabilly sound resulted from these shows.

Artist Type:

The Cinnamons

The Cinnamons equate to a fresh slant on the (phenomenal) pop-scene blossoming from Glasgow, Scotland.
Influences from The Pixies through 80's electronica - they manage to steer well clear of the well trod paths of Glasvegas/Franz Ferdinand/Simple Minds mindset - 'we want to rock stadiums' to produce a sound that is instant as it is unique as it is infectious. A truly talented band that I was fortunate enough to catch on their last tour - Lucasda Jan '09

Artist Type:

The Avengers

There are three bands and one radio show sharing the name The Avengers: 1) The Avengers were formed in San Francisco, in the first wave of American Punk. Penelope Houston was the lead singer, primary songwriter, and her persona was a large part of the draw for the act. The other band members were James Wilsey (bass), D. Furious (drums), and Greg Ingraham (guitar). Critic Greil Marcus once said The Avengers were, “…San Francisco’s best punk band - in their moments, they were, you knew, better than any other band playing that night anywhere in the world.”
