To Sophia

To Sophia are a three piece acoustic band from Manchester, UK. Najia Bagi (vocalist), Paul Balcolmbe (guitarist) and Dave Johnson (percussionist), officially began playing together at the beginning of 2007. Since then, they have been gigging regularly at various nights in Manchester and London. Their influences range from Aretha Franklin, Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughn, to Amon Tobin and ‘progressive’ rock bands such as Tool, Led Zeppelin and The Mars Volta.

Bez

Mark Berry (born 18 April 1964), commonly known as Bez or Marky Mark (and occasionally credited as Bez "Bez" Bez), is a British dancer and percussionist. He was a member and the mascot of Salford band Happy Mondays, having been invited in by lead singer Shaun Ryder shortly after the band was formed. He is chiefly remembered for his bizarre style of dancing, and use of the maracas - the Mondays' second single was called "Freaky Dancin'" in tribute.

The Dualers

The Dualers are street performing brothers Si and Tyber. The Dualers perform a unique blend of ska, soul and reggae that appeals to all ages with members of their database ranging from 1 to 91. They have a fan base of approaching 10,000 members but have probably been seen by in excess of 4 million whilst busking around the south east and performing at private functions, for the last 8 years. They have sold over 35,000 copies of their first two cd's on the streets alone.

Mable John

Mable John (born November 3, 1930) is an American blues vocalist who was the first female signed by Berry Gordy to Motown's Tamla label. John was born in Bastrop, Louisiana, and moved from the south to Detroit to find employment. After graduating Pershing High School, she took a job as an insurance representative at a company run by Berry Gordy's mother, Bertha. She soon met Gordy, and in 1959 began recording for him.

Petula Clark, CBE (born November 15, 1932), is an English singer, actress and composer, best known for her upbeat popular international hits of the 1960s. With nearly 70 million recordings sold worldwide, she is the most successful English solo female recording artist to date. Perhaps best known for her massive hit 'Downtown' and whilst being English, Petula's work was heavily French-influenced.In the 1950s, she later was to branch out to become a major success in much of Europe.
