Harry Warren

Harry Warren (December 24, 1893 – September 22, 1981) was an American composer and lyricist. Warren was the first major American songwriter to write primarily for film. He was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Song eleven times and won three Oscars for composing "Lullaby of Broadway", "You'll Never Know" and "On the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe". He wrote the music for the first blockbuster film musical, 42nd Street, directed and choreographed by Busby Berkeley, with whom he would collaborate on many musical films.

Jack Lawrence

There are at least 2 artists named Jack Lawrence. 1. Jack Lawrence (April 7, 1912 – March 15, 2009) was an American Academy Award-nominated songwriter. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1975. Lawrence was born in Brooklyn, New York to an Orthodox Jewish family. He wrote songs while still a child, but because of parental pressure went to school to study podiatry. He got his doctoral degree in 1932, the same year that his first song was published, and immediately decided that songwriting, rather than podiatry, would be his career.

Al Lewis

Al Lewis is a singer-songwriter from North Wales who now shares his time between Cardiff and London. A relative latecomer to music, it all began in earnest, back in 2007 when Al released his first two singles Waiting for You and I'll be the Moon and a welsh language EP entitled Byw mewn Breuddwyd on his own label. In March that year Al co-wrote and performed the song Llosgi (Burning) on the televised 'Song For Wales' competition, winning the songwriters category and coming second overall.
