The Metropole Orchestra (Het Metropole Orkest) is the largest professional pop and jazz orchestra existing in the world today. It has 52 musicians, making a full big band and a symphonic string section. The grammy Award winning orchestra was established in 1945 in The Netherlands and at present guidance of conductor Vince Mendoza. The musical spectrum of the orchestra reaches from pop, to jazz, chansons, cabaret and world music. The Metropole Orchestra provided film score for many Dutch motion pictures as well as international ones.
