In 2009, Ben, already in a band (Tilted Smile - voted 'Jack Daniels' Best New UK Band 2006), wanted to spread his wings and experiment with his own writing style. He had been friends with Dean for a number of years and together they embarked on a mission to bring 'traditional folk music meets nu folk, with a tang of country flavour' into The Midlands, UK. To help them with their quest, Sarah, someone Ben regularly bumped into in his local supermarket, was invited along for a rehearsal and from that moment on the heart and musical spark of Son of Eagle was created.
