Ant Henson

Sounds like Paolo Nutini dry humping Grace Slick on the sofa while Stevie Nicks seduces a drunken Jason Mraz in the corner. Oh, and whiskey. It sounds a bit like an unpainted Austin A30 running on whiskey.

Inspiration is; Sunshine, 12 string loveliness, driving fast in August with the windows down, heartbreak, girls in short skirts and high heels, street life, that beautiful 5th bottle of Budweiser, this whole damn brutal universe.

"The release of Ant Henson’s new single, ‘I Love You and I Miss You’ is perfectly timed. No, not because it coincides with his first UK tour, nor because it happens to come out just as Spotify [where a free sample of Henson's release is available to listen to online] overtakes iTunes as the record companies' favourite online music service, but more because it is the perfect accompaniment to what will hopefully be a long, lazy summer.
"Picture the scene: steak on the barbie, beer in the cooler, iPod on shuffle; then, after the Isley Brothers have faded out, you hear pure acoustic bliss. The tune is catchy (but not annoyingly so), and invokes memories of Mumm-Ra, one of Henson’s key influences. The guitar playing is not invasive, and the instrumental section towards the end reminds one of a Richard Durrant masterpiece – imagine an audio accompaniment to a Jack Kerouac novel, and you should get an idea of what it sounds like.
"The other songs on the EP are equally entertaining: clever rhythms pervade ‘She’s Crying’, and ‘Incredible’ sounds like what would happen if Dylan could sing. Overall, a highly satisfying EP, and one that should remain on the summer playlist until the nights start drawing in."

Luke Ferre

“I got into music because my parents were tired of me spending all my time watching telly. And so, after my first paid gig, I bought myself a new telly...”

Likened to artists such as Ed Sheeran, Frank Turner, Mumford & Sons and Nizlopi, Luke Ferre has an ever growing following of dedicated fans everywhere he plays.

Only 18, but already causing quite a stir on the unsigned circuit, having played support slots for a broad spectrum of acts including Slade, The Hoosiers, Gabrielle Aplin and The Blanks (Ted’s Band from the TV show Scrubs) on their respective tours, as well as being featured on BBC Introducing following the success of his last EP.

With interest in the teenage songwriter steadily growing, Luke’s forthcoming EP is set to bring him to the attention of a wider audience when it’s released this spring, coinciding with a packed season of gigs and festivals.

In his spare time, Luke enjoys playing solitaire, eating chocolate digestives whole, and talking to his pet goldfish, Marcus.

"The fun of Ed Sheeran, with the guitar lines of Frank Turner" - BBC Introducing

“Not only charismatic and full of humour, but a great writer.” – Thedirtysouth.org

Shaun Gary Palmer

As at home on the Beach as he is on stage. Always strumming at an Acoustic Guitar, or occasionaly his signature white Ukelele. Singer/Songwriter Shaun grew up in Poole. A stones throw away from some of the most beautiful coastline in the world. And so it's easy to see why he sings about the world in all of its splendour. But at the same time he doesn't paper over the cracks. His are songs which try to deal with the world as a whole. As well as the usual songs of love, loss or betrayal are songs with a more introspective tone. Lyrics which are at once both personal and universal. A trait many put down to his love of fellow Songwriters Willy Mason & Ben Howard.
Shaun himself has said that his lyrics are by far the hardest things to write. And that he has hundreds of riffs and songs that have never been heard because he is unable to pin lyrics to them. And while that does indeed seem like a shame, at the same time it's hard to find fault with such values in a world full to bursting with the mindless and vapid stylings of the reality generation.
