HEADWATER

Vancouver's Headwater is one of the busiest acoustic roots bands on the West Coast. They are as equally at home playing festivals and soft-seaters as they are busking on the street before a nightclub gig. Headwater's music is characterized by adventurous slide-guitar solos, three part vocal harmonies. Their songs vary in mood, from the upbeat and quick "Freight Train" to the slower, meandering "Pleasure and the Rhyme". Headwater has recently released their latest CD: Lay You Down.

Fishboy

Fishboy is a four-piece eccentric indie pop band from Denton, TX that began as the bedroom solo project of front man Eric Michener. He was given the nickname on a middle-school field trip after a dare to pluck and swallow a fish at the Dallas World Aquarium. Six years and several shoe boxes full of cassette tapes later, Michener moved from the suburbs to the Texas rock-and-roll Mecca of Denton with a handful of low budget recordings released by the close-knit Austin music collective Business Deal Records.

Raising the eyebrows of inquisitive metalheads and incensed parents and politicians, the record - produced by Scott Burns at the now renowned Morrisound Studios - was more extreme and confrontational than anything the metal genre had ever known.

Heaven's Edge

Heavens Edge was a highly melodic rock band that flirted with AOR. They played a similar style to that of Harem Scarem but came upon the metal scene too late to make many waves.
Mark Evans (vocals), Reggie Wu (guitar/keyboards), Steven Parry (guitar), George "G.G." Guidotti (bass) and David Rath (drums) got together in Philadelphia, PA to form Heavens Edge. With an uncanny ability of fusing hard rock riffs with huge melodies, it wasn't long before their demo tape attracted Columbia records and resulted in a recording contract.
