GERDA BLANK was a German woman shot attempting to cross the Berlin wall. It is also the project name of Rhys Braddock & Stuart Mills . Rhys, originally from New Plymouth, New Zealand, picked up drummer & vocalist, Stuart Mills, in Auckland, NZ, October 2007, they discovered they shared similar musical Ideals, wanting to quickly record an album, and see where their fruitful musical results would carry them. In July 2008, they embarked on their first European tour, taking In Barcelona, Bosnia.

Bats

BATS are a Progressive / Post punk / Metal band based in Dublin. (Not to be confused with New Zealand's The Bats.) Formed in the early part of the Pliocene age, BATS (featuring ex-members of Martha Washington) have spent millions of years developing their sound from a series of intermittent bleeps to the sexy sonic bullets they create today. 4 out of 5 BATS hail from Ireland’s alpha-smoke- Dublin, while the other crawled his way on bloody knuckles out of the haunted town of Carbury, Kildare in the mid 1600’s.

Katchafire

Katchafire is a reggae band from Hamilton, New Zealand. They present an infusion of the roots reggae lineage with an undeniably Maori sound. They feature Logan Bell (Guitar, Vocals), Jamey Ferguson (Keyboards, Saxophone, Vocals), Haani Totorewa (Keyboards, Guitar, Vocals), Grenville Bell, (Lead Guitar) Ara Adams-Taratewa (Bass), Jordan Bell (Drums), and Leon Davey (Percussion, Harmonica, Vocals).

The Nomad

New Zealand producer Daimon Schwalger has released music under the name The Nomad for many years. The first album Movement was drum'n'bass, but subsequent releases have been releases with (obligatory in New Zealand) influences. Prior to his solo project he was performing drum'n'bass as part of trio Locust with Pearl Runga (sister of Bic Runga) and Ryan Smith (aka The Silversmith). They had no official releases.

Falter

There are several artists going by the name Falter; 1.Falter are an alternative metal band from Blackburn. With influences taken from a vast amount of artists and genres, they blend a mix of hard rock, metal and grunge to create a raw and visceral sound that they can undoubtedly call their own. Falter are indisputably crowd pleasers, as their live performances have been described as fierce, thrilling and an adrenaline rush of honest intensity that other local bands seem to lack.

Nesian Mystik

Nesian Mystik are one of the top hip hop and RnB groups in New Zealand, blending a variety of polynesian singing and rhyme styles into a unique flavour of music. They beging with a top selling single Nesian Style following up with their #1 debut album Polysaturated in 2002. In 2006 the eagerly awaited followup album Freshmen was released, continuing their Samoan, Maori, Cook Island and Tongan blend of funky, happy beats.

The Pukes

If you go and see The Pukes perform live these days, you can basically get anything from Mike Puke performing solo with his guitar and drum machine, to the full band and any combination inbetween, depending on who can make it along on the night... Anyway, The Pukes can be traced back to Nelson 1997, when Mike Puke, who was then in ten year old Nelson punk band "Dead Centre", started recording solo as "Puke".

Vassafor

Vassafor is a Black Metal band from New Zealand. Members also are active in other NZ bands Diocletian, Malevolence, Skuldom and Ulcerate. Incorporating various forms of extreme dark music in particular doom as evidenced on self titled MCD/MLP "Vassafor". The 2 song tape from 2010 "Promo MMX" was reissued via Canadian label Serpents Head Reprisal in Jan MMXI.
