Alexi Murdoch

Alexi Murdoch is a singer-songwriter. He was born in London and raised in Scotland, Greece and France then attended university in the United States in North Carolina, where he had heard there was good mountain countryside. He currently lives between New York and a small house on the remote west coast of Scotland where he spends his days writing and working on a small wooden sailing boat. To date, Murdoch has released two proper recordings and one soundtrack. All his music has been self-released--on his own Zero Summer Records--with various partners.

There is more than one artist with the name Embrace, the first two of whom are significant:
1) a five-piece indie band from Leeds, England, who have enjoyed significant success in UK, including three number one albums and six Top 10 singles
2) a Post-Hardcore/Post-Punk band from Washington D.C. that had a galvanizing influence on the Washington, D.C. punk scene of the 80's and featured Ian MacKaye (who subsequently formed Fugazi)
3) a Dutch Trance duo
4) a Canadian Gothic Metal band

Cat Power

Charlyn Marie Marshall, also known as Chan (pronounced "Shawn") Marshall, was born in Atlanta, Georgia, U.S. on 21 January 1972. After dropping out of high school, she started performing under the name Cat Power, while in Atlanta, backed by musicians Glen Thrasher, Mark Moore, and others. She soon moved to New York City, United States in 1992, then later opening for Liz Phair in 1994, she met Steve Shelley of Sonic Youth and Tim Foljahn of Two Dollar Guitar, who encouraged her to record, and played on her first two albums, 1995's Dear Sir and 1996's Myra Lee.

Anton Zap

Anton Zap was born in Moscow in 1979. He studied Chinese for 7 years and then embarked on a 2 year sound engineering course. He started collecting wax from a very young age and in the mid 90’s he joined Moscow’s underground lounge group, Tetris, led by Vlad Lozinsky. He was resident DJ at one of Moscow’s leading clubs, Propaganda from 1997-2005. He later started his own band, Papaztrio alongside Pavel Hotin and Yuriy Shulgin.

Just because the first time that you witnessed Big Gee’s mean-mugging scowl was holding down one-fourth of Boyz-N-Da-Hood video for “Dem Boyz,” don’t think that the A-town trap star is new to the rap game. Serving neighborhood hip hop fiends across Atlanta with hard-edged street anthems and gritty Down South production, Gee has been moving underground rhymes like weight since hooking up with label CEO Russell “Block” Spencer almost eight years ago.

Benjamin Gibbard

From Wiki: Benjamin Gibbard (born August 11, 1976 in Bremerton, Washington) is an American musician who has formed several indie bands. He is most notable as the lead singer of Death Cab for Cutie and The Postal Service, although also known for his project ¡All-Time Quarterback! and his first band, Pinwheel. Gibbard spent his formative years in Bremerton, Washington during the time of the grunge musical explosion during the early 1990s. Growing up he was influenced by Nirvana, the Stone Roses, Superchunk, Built to Spill, Teenage Fanclub, The Pixies and Ultra Vivid Scene.
