Cosmic Kids

Cosmic Kids Ron Poznansky and Dan Terndrup didn’t meet in outer space as their DJ moniker may indicate, but the story is still equally as good. The two met in a high school classroom meant for kids who had trouble paying attention. They bonded over their love of classic rock. Right out of high school they both volunteered to work at the Los Angeles radio station KCRW. Known for its eclectic programming, the friends were exposed to all different kinds of music, and began collecting and consuming records, feeding their ever-expanding appetite for music.

John Maus

There are two artists with the name John Maus: (1) John Maus (born February 23, 1980) is an American composer and political philosophy and theory instructor at the University of Hawaiiʻi at Mānoa. Born and raised in the small town of Austin, Minnesota, his first experiments with music were at an early age--in his band the Janitors and by playing guitar for his church. In the early '00s he performed with Ariel Pink's Haunted Graffiti, and more recently has released two self-produced albums of his own: "Songs" (2006), and "Love is Real" (2007).

John Tchicai

John Martin Tchicai (born April 28, 1936) is a Danish jazz saxophonist. He was one of the earliest European free jazz musicians. He is of Danish and Congolese descent. Tchicai studied violin in his youth, and in his mid-teens began playing clarinet and alto saxophone, focusing on the latter. By the late 1950's he was travelling around northern Europe, playing with many musicians. After moving to New York City in 1963, Tchicai fell into the free jazz scene, co-forming the New York Contemporary Five and the New York Art Quartet, and playing on John Coltrane's epochal Ascension.
