Mingus Big Band
"The Mingus Big Band is a jazz band, based in New York City, that specializes in the compositions of the late Charles Mingus. The band is managed by his widow, Sue Mingus. In addition to its weekly Monday night appearance at the Jazz Standard/Blue Smoke Barbecue in New York City, The Mingus Big Band also tours frequently in Europe and other parts of the world." The band are most notable for their very unique big band sound, which consists of many different parts all weaving around eack other to great effect.
Big Band
There are two types of artists which are known as "Big Band": 1) A big band is a type of musical ensemble associated with playing jazz music and which became popular during the Swing Era from 1935 until the late 1940s. A big band typically consists of approximately 12 to 19 musicians and contains saxophones, trumpets, trombones, and a rhythm section. The terms jazz band, stage band, jazz orchestra, and dance band are also used to refer to this type of ensemble.
Bullhorn
Brass band from Brisbane, Australia formed in 2011. One drummer, seven horn players (sax, trumpet, french horn, flugal horn, trombone, flute and sousaphone). They call themselves a nu-wave brass band incorporating elements of roots, funk, hip hop and a bit of reggae.
Jools Holland and His Rhythm and Blues Orchestra
Best known from the T.V. show 'Later...with Jools Holland' who provide back up for guests that perform on the show. They also tour the U.K each year, normally promoting songs from their albums, which are collaborative in nature playing with names such as: George Harrison, Ringo Star, Sting, Dr John, Norah Jones, Sam Brown, Eric Clapton and many more.
The Glenn Miller Orchestra
Glenn Miller was born in Clarinda, Iowa on March 1, 1904, the son of Mattie Lou (née Cavender) and Lewis Elmer Miller.[1][2] He went to grade school in North Platte, Nebraska. In 1915, Miller's family moved to Grant City, Missouri. Around this time, Miller was given his first trombone and then played in the town orchestra. In 1918, the Miller family moved again, this time to Fort Morgan, Colorado where Glenn went to high school.

Matthew Herbert is an electronic music producer from United Kingdom known for breaking the boundaries and conventions of the genre. Since 1996 he has released music on a variety of record labels under many aliases including Doctor Rockit, Wishmountain, Radio Boy, Mr. Vertigo, Transformer, under his own name and with his Big Band since 2003. He has played at the Montreux and North Sea Jazz Festivals, Paris' Pompidou Centre, Tokyo's Blue Note, Sonar and Glastonbury, and supported Bjork at the Hollywood Bowl.
Bob Mintzer
Bob Mintzer (born January 27, 1953), originally from New Rochelle, New York, is a jazz saxophonist, composer, arranger and big band leader based in Los Angeles. After graduating from the Interlochen Arts Academy in 1970, Mintzer made his mark as a soloist, mainly on the tenor saxophone and the bass clarinet. Julian Miles Holland (born 24 January 1958) is a British pianist, bandleader ( Jools Holland & His Rhythm & Blues Orchestra ), television presenter, architectural eccentric and pop music enthusiast. He was also a founding member of the highly acclaimed and successful band Squeeze.
