Oh My!

Oh My! are Alex (20) and Jade (19) - the parrot is just a friend - a new pop duo snatched from a humble Leeds dance school by 679 Records (Little Boots, Marina & the Diamonds). Their excitedly punctuated name is inspired by 'Oops (Oh My)' by Tweet and Missy Elliott. 'Run This Town', their first song, was released as a free download, with official first single 'Dirty Dancer' to come at the end of 2011, and Example has been writing for the album, due in early 2012.

Chalk

There are at least Three artists with the name Chalk 1. Chalk was an indie electro rock band active in Cincinnati, OH from 1996-2005. They released two albums on Deary Me Records and one on Tokyo Rose Records. Jim & Greg now play in Eat Sugar 2. Chalk is an acoustic artist from Brighton, UK. Chalk's first album is set to be released through Sonic Anhedonic Recording Company on the 2nd September 2013. 3. Chalk is a 3-piece rock band from Minneapolis.

Volcano Choir

Volcano Choir is an American indie band that started as a collaboration between Justin Vernon (of Bon Iver) and Collections of Colonies of Bees. Their debut album is Unmap and was released on September 22, 2009. It reached number 92 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. A second album, Repave, was released on September 3, 2013.
The project originally came together with songs being written in 2005. It was not recorded until the fall of 2008 in Fall Creek, Wisconsin, USA.

Athlete

Athlete are an English indie rock/casio rock band. Their sound is a mix of indie rock and electronic music, most recently intergrating "organic sounds" into their music. Friends since the age of fourteen, Athlete have wide ranging influences that include Grandaddy and Flaming Lips (more detailed information about the band's influences can be found on their Last.fm user profile). They started jamming and practicing in the basement of The Bear, a pub which was converted into a church and sandwich bar, on Deptford High Street in 1999.

Rebecca Black

Rebecca Black (born June 21, 1997) is an American singer who gained worldwide attention with her 2011 single "Friday". Her mother paid $4000 to have the single and an accompanying music video put out as a vanity release through the record label ARK Music Factory. The song was co-written and produced by Clarence Jey and Patrice Wilson of ARK Music Factory. After the video went viral on YouTube and other social media sites, "Friday" was derided by many music critics and viewers, who dubbed it "the worst song ever.

Chicks On Speed

Chicks on Speed are a female band, born when Alex and Melissa met at the Munich Art Academy in 1997. Chicks on Speed's core members are Melissa Logan (Upstate NY, USA) and Alex Murray-Leslie (Bowral, Australia), who collaborate with amongst others Anat Ben-David (Tel Aviv, Israel), Kathi Glas (Berlin, Germany) and A.L. Steiner (NY, USA). Around Chicks on Speed there is grouped a large and ever-changing collective of musicians, producers, fashion and graphic artists, designers, film and video makers, and so on.

Sleeper Service

Sleeper Service are a Leeds based folk/alt-rock collective started by Rory Evers and Will Tapply over the summer of 2008.
The duo began writing songs together whilst still in school and Sleeper Service is their newest manifestation, the genesis of which occurred in early June 2008. Enlisting the help of numerous fellow Leeds musicians: guitarist/mandolin player Jay Ramsurran, pianist/singer Emer MacManus, Henry Ruddell on organ and synths, Dave Walker on drums and James on bass guitar, the band are currently recording a full length album.

Broadcaster

(NOTE: there are 2 active bands named Broadcaster, as well as a number of non-active bands with that name) Broadcaster is a band from Long Island, NY featuring Jesse Litwa (of Royal City Riot) on Guitar and Vocals, Anthony Vito Fraccalvieri (of Royal City Riot/ex-Stealing Jane) on Drums and Tom Kelly (of Tomahawk Chop/ex-The Homecoming Queens) on Bass. Their first release 'Welcome to the Wetlands' is available for free on their bandcamp and on Woodland Records. They currently have a 7inch split record with New Year's Revolution from Audubon Records.
