Tube - reunion countdown

It's 7-days until the first Tube soundcheck in exactly 7-years. Looking forward to unleashing the back catalogue as well as a brand new song.

It's looking like it's gonna be busy, so thanks to everyone who's booked in advance... you can collect your Tube Rock EP on the night. Tickets available from www.Tuberock.co.uk

Merry Christmas

Ben Howard another great performance

I've now seen Ben Howard twice this year, once at the Winchester Pub in front of 200 people... and most recently in support of Xavier Rudd at the o2 Academy in Bournemouth, where once again he was excellent.

I really recommend you check him in when he's next on tour. He's just been picked up by a record label too, so a happy christmas in the Howard household no doubt.

Amy Can Flyy in Southampton

The first date of their headline UK tour was something special. I now know what Power-pop is, and I can't get the tunes out of my head. You have to watch the video to fully appreciate how good these guys are, and seeing them live is very entertaining in deed. I wish them all the best as they take the UK by storm.

Also, some of the best t-shirts I've seen draped over a merch stand in sometime... special mention to the Tibby And The Jets tees. I've added one to my Christmas list.

Trannequin - The First Gig

I'd heard some sneak previews of the Trannequin tracks and didn't know what to think... and now I have seen them live and I am none-the-wiser. Apart from they were very good, the tunes are very clever and catchy.

I know the guys well, although after Friday's show it's as if I really don't know them at all. Like waking up in an alternate universe, one with Trannequins, which for some reason sounds like it's a word we've been using for years.

A story of love lost and found, the Songs are a mix of samples, great lyrics and vocaloid powering the Trannequin. A great act. Something the world needs.

V, DMF & other musical acronyms

It's been a busy few days, from the fields of Hylands Park to the main stage at Dorset Music Forum.

Thanks to all the artists, managers and promoters who came along to DMF HQ tonight to find out more about the Musicosity project. Your questions and feedback has been great, thank you very much. I'll blog about some of the contributions, including "Musicosity is like a band's CV", something future employers can trust and get references.

Thanks for the emails and well done for those who have already signed up! You can email me on Chris@musicosity.org with any questions or ideas.

Thank you Bournemouth, and good night.

New venue for Plymouth

I had the privilege last week of being given a tour of a new venue in Plymouth. Following a huge regeneration project of Devonport, the Guildhall which was built in the 1800s has undergone a terrific faceift, whilst maintaining it's original features. Right in the heart of a new housing develop, I can see it becoming a great space for the area.
