Beautiful Girls' Mat comes to UK

After a massive tour of the USA, Canada, Brazil and Australia Mat. McHugh (The Beautiful Girls) brings his solo and acoustic tour to Europe and the UK. He has teamed up with the Seaweed Sessions to visit London, Cornwall, Bournemouth and Bristol for an intimate acoustic performance of songs spanning 10 years, five albums and a whole lot o’ miles. Both a retrospective of the man behind ‘The Beautiful Girls’ and a look to the future.

Dorset's Jazz morley plays Music Week Stage

BBC Introducing describes Dorset's Jazz Morley as "Dusty via Duffy" and she is confirmed to perform as part of a Music Week showcase.

Breakout's monthly showcase for new and breaking acts staged by Music Week in conjunction with All Night Long Promotions, throws a spotlight on newly-signed acts - those creating a buzz in A&R circles. Breakout gives the music industry and the public a first glance of up-and-coming talent.

Mark Hoppus Reveals Blink 182 New Album Details

Although the band have remained secretive when it comes to unveiling the album's title and tracklisting, Hoppus has revealed that the album is fully recorded and that their label will receive the record's first single on July 3, with an official release date due shortly after.

"We’ve been working on it since the band reformed two years ago, but really, really, really started intense work last October," says Hoppus. "And the past four months have been the serious heavy lifting.

Blink-182: 'We're almost finished recording our new album'

Blink-182's Mark Hoppus has said the band are almost finished recording their sixth studio album and the record will be done by July 31.

The trio, who shelved the planned UK arena tour and festival appearances that were due to take place this month in order to complete work on the album, are due to begin a US tour with My Chemical Romance next month.

Writing on his Facebook page Facebook.com/markhoppus, the singer/bassist wrote: "I'm very excited. We're getting to the point of the album where we talk about mixers and finishing up the songs."

The Killers new songs

The Killers have begun work on their fourth studio album and have already written a series of new songs, according to singer Brandon Flowers.

Speaking to Zane Lowe on BBC Radio 1 last night (June 21), Flowers said that the band had reconvened and were now working in earnest on new material.

Asked if the band had written any songs for the follow-up to 2008's 'Day & Age', Flowers replied: "We have about four or five. We've put them up on the board and they're sounding good. We think they're strong."

Simple Plan releases a new album

The band released its fourth studio album titled " Get Your Heart On! " on 21 June 2011. The band collaborated with various songwriters such as Claude Kelly, Weezer's Rivers Cuomo, Matt Squire, Jim Irvin, Julian Emery, and David Hodges.

This is an album that is made for Summer and If you’re a fan of Pop-Punk bands like Blink-182, New Found Glory, Sum 41 and Bowling For Soup then you’re sure to love Get Your Heart On!

Benjamin Francis Leftwich on Radio 1 playlist

Benjamin Francis Leftwich (Born 4 September 1989) is an English singer-songwriter from York. Leftwich began playing at the age of ten and grew up listening to The Rolling Stones and Nina Simone; later discovering Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, and Elliott Smith.

His latest single Box of Stones is releasing on 18 June 2011 but is available for a quick listen on Radio 1 playlist.

The Subways to release new album 'Money And Celebrity' in September

The Subways have announced that they will release their third studio album in mid September. The follow-up to 2008's 'All Or Nothing' will be called 'Money And Celebrity'.

The trio, who have recorded the album with Blur/The Smiths producer Stephen Street in London, have also released a brand new track for free download.

Titled 'It's A Party', the track is now available for free from the band's official website thesubways.net. Another single will precede the album's release in early September.

The album has been made with the help of a fan funded Pledgemusic campaign.

Musicosity Email goes live

Musicosity Email was launched today to help artists and the live industry improve how they communicate with audiences.

The service which is free if you send up to 1000 emails per month allows artists and businesses to organise, design and manage their email campaigns in the web browser, as well as offering the lowest sending rates there are no monthly contracts or annual fees to worry about.

Musicosity Email was created for independent artists and businesses and was developed following a number of inquiries asking to recommend a campaign management tool that was flexible and low cost.

Last tickets released for Futures in Bournemouth

The last few tickets are now available for the Futures show in Bournemouth.

A four piece pop-rock outfit, FUTURES formed from the ashes of TONIGHT IS GOODBYE. Having supported the likes of Boyslikegirls and You Me At Six the band released their debuet mini album In March 2010 deciding to give it away. The Holiday was released free of charge as a covermount CD for Rocksound, leading the issue to becoming the biggest selling copy of the magazine in two years. The album was later made available for purchasing via the band's website www.wearefutures.co.uk.
