555 bottles of shampoo or shower gel, 28 sewing kits, 22 razors, 26 packets of shoe polish, 36 toothbrushes or paste, 121 shower caps and eight sanitary bags, 27 combs or brushes, five pairs of slippers, 13 nail files, one badge, one bottle of olive oil and two keys.
The ever-eccentric Gruff Rhys is back to tour the UK with his third studio album, and his most ambitious yet. 'Hotel Shampoo' (released February 14th) is, like its name, drawn up by inspiration from the mini bottles of shampoo collected during 15 years of frequent hotel visits and the people met over the last 15 years of performing.
Adding to an expansive range of creative work, which has seen two previous solo albums, the Welsh-sung 'Yr Atal Genhedlaeth' and 2007's 'Candylion', the Mercury nominated project - Neon Neon, a number of high profile collaborations with the likes of Gorrilaz and Dark Night of the Soul, the Danger Mouse & Sparklehorse LP and finally, an experimental LP with a Brazillian TV repairman' Tony Da Gatorra, titled 'The Terror of Cosmic Loneliness' which goes hand in hand with Gruff's film-making debut 'Seperado'
The 25th February 2011, Gruff Rhys comes to Bridport for a debut performance at Electric Palace. From the purveyor of the leftest-field pop, catch Gruff in this, the most intimate of environments, for what is sure to be an incredible show.
