Bright Eye's supported by The Mountain Goats

The Mountain Goats don't play too many shows opening for other bands; they're a group happy to play to their own rapturous crowds. But, as Consequence of Sound points out, John Darnielle and co. will step onto a few huge stages this summer, opening U.S. dates for one of the biggest bands in all of indie: Bright Eyes. They'll even play a free show together in Lewiston, New York.

Ebay Auctions Daft Punk's Ferrari For Japan

EMI is currently holding an auction on eBay with proceeds going to help Japan. Items include a costume worn by Bat for Lashes, one of the Beastie Boys' MTV awards, Chris Martin's rainbow-soldier Viva La Vida jacket, 35 albums signed by David Bowie, and-- drum roll please-- the 1987 Ferrari 412 used in the Daft Punk art film Electroma.

BRITPOP HEROES THE BLUETONES SAY FAREWELL TO FANS WITH A FINAL TOUR

Indie legends The Bluetones today announce their last ever tour and mark the end of an era for the band who have been going strong since they formed in the early ‘90s.

Their debut album ‘Expecting to Fly’ released on 12th February 1996 knocked Oasis’ ‘(What’s The Story ) Morning Glory?’ off the Number 1 spot in the UK album charts and delivered 3 Top 20 singles, ‘Bluetonic’, ‘Slight Return’ and ‘Cut Some Rug’.

MUSICOSITY OFFERS BRIBE TO SUBSCRIBE

Musicosity launches in the UK this month and is offering a special “Bribe To Subscribe”. Subscribers will get VIP tickets to see Australian best selling artist Xavier Rudd at the Bournemouth International Centre and tickets to two other shows to be announced.

BIC Helps Young People Discover More Live Music

Dorset Music Forum (DMF) is piloting a new program to make live music more accessible to younger people. Working with local venues and promoters the project provides incentives and offers for people under 16 years of age to encourage them to discover more live music.

The first concert goes on sale this week at the Bournemouth International Centre featuring Australia’s best selling artist ‘Xavier Rudd’ on Saturday 4th December, having previously packed out the o2 Academy.
